In aid of Puttinu Cares Children’s Cancer Support Group

Reflecting back on the “Martial Arts vs Rock Bands” events…

It has been some time now, nevertheless, the band and its members are honoured to have been able to humbly contribute to the raising of funds for the ‘Puttinu Cares Foundation’ (www.puttinucares.org).

The participation in two editions of the “Martial Arts vs Rock Bands” event in January 2009 and again in January 2011 has humbly contributed to the raising of funds for the Puttinu Cares Children’s Cancer Support Group. What better way to start the gigging year?!

Events such as these are truly important to allow local music acts to contribute to society and to help those in need, both on a financial level and also by helping to raise awareness to the needs of the community. It is events like these that give a chance to the generosity of the Maltese people to manifest itself on different levels.

A good amount was raised during the 2011 event alone (www.timesofmalta.com article).

Anyone can however continue contributing: http://www.puttinucares.org/donations.asp

We hope that other bands and musical talents are inspired to continue participating in similar events and that, at the same time, organisers are also willing to continue organising similar activities for everyone to enjoy and be a part of.

Prologue in Black - EP - Dawn of Anguish

It has been a lot of hard work and what better place and time to launch this snippet of what’s to come than the 2013 Malta Doom Metal Festival!?! As always a mind blowing event! We thank all the organisers of the MDM festival for once more making us a part of this together with the bands and followers of doom metal who shred this experience.

In particular, we would like to say a special thank-you to all those who got hold of a copy of our promo EP! We never even imagined that it would be sold out from day one!… In fact, we had to make extra copies right after MDM. Anyone who wants to get their’s can do so by clicking here! We are certainly motivated to work even harder to bring you all a deserved full length release.

We would also like to take this opportunity to once again thank all our supporters who have been following the latest developments about the band and our music… in particular we would also like to thank Two Notes audio engineering which have been instrumental in our recording process.

Endorsement from Exodus Cymbals

D.O.A. is once again very proud to announce that Simeon Gatt, the band’s drummer (who also plays drums with Forsaken), has been endorsed by Exodus Cymbals.

We are sure this partnership will bring about countless hours of smashing sounds at our gigs as well as the garage and during recording. We are also certain his new Exodus cymbals will beget even more crashing blows accompanying his evocatively passionate and energetic drumming.

D.O.A. partnership with ‘Two Notes Audio Engineering’

D.O.A. is very proud to announce its official partnership with Two Notes Audio Engineering and to have become a supporting artists of this great audio company from France!

Two Notes Audio Engineering

As a band, we are currently in the middle of the recording process for our first album. We have been looking at various options for the next stage of the recordings for both guitar and bass tracks and are now very pleased to be using Two Notes hardware and software products!

This will enable us to record much quicker and with less technical obstacles, meaning that our album has moved a number of steps ahead closer to coming to completion.

Keep tuned for our upcoming clips in the Members’ Area and YouTube video channel which will give a better preview of what’s coming up from D.O.A.

Website launch!

DOA website launch

http://dawnofanguish.com

It has been some time since our last gig a the Valletta Waterfront Powerhouse in early 2011 and many have been wondering what has been going on with the band. Due to our schedule we have indeed been shying away from gigs over the past months. Nevertheless, a lot has been going on behind the scenes, recording our old material (more on that in another post)… writing new material… and, of course, working on our website!

Finally, after a long period of hard work, we are glad to announce dawnofanguish.com is up and running! This will give us the means to supply the best band resources for all those interested in keeping updated and in getting to know about the band and our music. We hope you enjoy our home on the internet and of coarse you are welcome to visit us as often as you like.

For all those who would wish to keep in touch, make sure to visit the subscribe section of the website to keep updated about all the latest band news and events.
